pFuneral services for Eva E. Murray, age 88 of Ogdensburg, will be held at 1:00pm on Friday (June 3, 2016) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael O’Donnell officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Ogdensburgh Cemetery./ppCalling hours will be held also on Friday from 12:00noon until the time of the service. Mrs. Murray entered into her rest peacefully on Sunday (May 29, 2016) at the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her family./ppSurviving are two sons Ronald (Karen) Murray of Lisbon, Thomas (Jo-Ellen) Murray of Ogdensburg, Sheila (William) LaMere of Heuvelton, Mary Alice (Loren Keim) of Palmyra, NY; a sister Mary “Geraldine” Rockey of Brockville, Ont; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & cousins./ppShe was predeceased by her husband Floyd; five brothers Arnold, Thomas, William, Donald & Garnet Madden and four sisters Mabel Kennedy, Lila Fourney, Edna Ryrie & Emily “Doreen” Perry./ppEva was born on July 19, 1927 in Grenville Ontario, a daughter of the late William & Edith (Kearnes) Madden. She attended schools in Prescott and later married Floyd G. Murray on March 22, 1947 in Prescott, Ontario. /ppDuring her career, she worked at the Glove Factory as a seamstress in Prescott prior to her marriage, stayed at home to raise her family and later became a volunteer in the reading resource room at Lincoln School from 1993 – 2007. She also worked at Ames Department Store for three years. /ppShe was a member of the Home League, PTA and St. John’s Episcopal Church Parish. Eva enjoyed picnics, crocheting, dancing, gardening, walking, babysitting children, camping, baking, sewing, reading, socializing, swimming and visiting Upper Canada Village./ppMemorial contributions can be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 500 Caroline Street; Ogdensburg, NY 13669 or the Potsdam Animal Shelter, 17 Madrid Ave, Potsdam, NY 13676.
