pEleanor M. Marra, 87, Holcomb Street, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016, at her home under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County and her family./ppMrs. Marra was born August 6, 1928 in Old Forge, PA, a daughter of Leo and Rose Petillo Memolo. She graduated from Old Forge High School. On November 24, 1949, she married James V. Marra at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Marra died May 10, 2016. The couple had been married for sixty-seven years./ppMrs. Marra’s greatest joy was her husband, children, grandchildren and home. Until recent years, she enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, specifically, her rose beds. She was an avid reader and had a knowledge of many subjects which she would share with whomever would listen. In her youth she was a devoted Brooklyn Dodger fan, making most home games until leaving Brooklyn following her marriage to her beloved husband James (Vince). Mrs. Marra was a communicant of St. Patrick’s church, and in earlier years was a member of the Watertown Hockey Association Auxiliary and enjoyed volunteering at the Orthopedic Clinic held at the State Office Building under the direction of Dr. David Vaneenenaam. She and her husband enjoyed walking six miles daily until their health would no longer permit. Most often they would be seen walking around the south side of town holding hands. /ppSurviving are a son, James (Jay) Jr. (Dawn), Ft. Calhoun, NE, three daughters, Pamela J. (Timothy) Clement, Patricia M. Virkler, Karen A. (Timothy) Adderley, all of Watertown, a sister, Christine (Dennis) Richardson, Jefferson, TX, nine grandchildren, Amy (Christopher) Gamber, Timothy (Meghan) Clement, David (Beverly) Virkler, John Clement, Michael Adderley and Allison Adderley, Anna Marra, Victoria Campbell, John “JD” Campbell and Ashley Campbell, six great grandchildren , several nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Marie Marra, Natalie Foster, Jean Davanazo and a brother Leo Memolo, Jr. all died before her./ppCalling hours will be Thursday, June 9, 2016, from 7-9pm at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home, Inc. A prayer service will be held Friday at 9:15 am with a 10 am funeral mass at St. Patrick’s Church with Reverend Robert Aucoin officiating.
