pROCHESTER, NY/HARRISVILLE, NY ~ John Thomas Irish, Jr., 63, of 105 Red Hickory Dr., Rochester, formerly of Harrisville, died Monday, June 6, 2016, in Strong Memorial Hospital’s Palliative Care Center, Rochester, where he had been admitted on May 28th./ppBorn January 12, 1953 in Gouverneur, NY, “Tom” was the third of five children of John T. and Virginia Stevens Irish. He received his primary education in Harrisville, and in 1995, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY, and his Master of Science Degree in Management from Nazareth College in Rochester in 2001./ppHe married Katherine “Katie” D. Lehman on September 8, 1979 at the Lowville Episcopal Church in Lowville, NY./ppDuring his early career, Tom worked as a Service Manager coordinating energy management expansion projects and maintenance contracts for various schools, colleges, hospitals and businesses including Kodak and Corning, Inc., and also managed service contracts for data centers for IBM, J&J, Wyeth Ayers, Penfield Schools, Central Trust Bank and USEPA. From 1990 until 2002, he was the Project Manager for Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. in Rochester, where he directed multi-millon dollar projects involving new construction and modification of buildings to meet industry standards for plumbing and HVAC&R systems. From 2002 until 2008, he worked as Senior Account Manager for Carrier Commerical Service in Raleigh, NC, Service Account Executive for Honeywell, Inc. in Morrisville, NC, and Regional Operations Manager for NORESCO in Cary, NC. In 2012, he began his own company and served as the President of Irish Consultative Energy services, providing services for HVAC upgrades, energy management recommendations, and equipment service and replacement, until the time of his death./ppWhen not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family, and especially loved playing golf. /ppIn addition to his loving wife, Katie, of almost 37 years, he is survived by two sons, Mitchell J. Irish, and Ryan Thomas Irish, both of Rochester, NY; two grandchildren, Christina Conley Irish and Sean Conley Irish; two sisters, Anne I. (Allen) Weaver, of Boonville, and Cinda I. Alteri, of Cary, NC; two brothers, Joseph D. (Vickie) Irish, of Cobleskill, and Terry R. (Shelley) Irish, of Shrewsbury, MA, and numerous nieces and nephews./ppHe was predeceased by his father, who died in 1967, his mother, Virginia Vallencour, who died in 2012, his step-father, Fred Vallencour, who died in 2005, and his brother-in-law, Joseph Alteri, who died in 2011./ppA Memorial Service for Tom will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrisville Christian Church, with Michael Gault, Pastor, officiating. His interment will follow in Harrisville Community Cemetery.
