pVictor V. Potish, 92, of Sandy Pond, passed away June 10 at the Veterans Hospital in Syracuse. He was born July 20, 1923 in Binghamton, NY, son of the late Rudolph and Pauline Charnetsky Potish. Educated in Pulaski School. Married to the former Margaret A. Ridgeway on November 9, 1945 in Lacona, NY. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the US Army from 1945-1946. Resident of Sandy Pond since 1947. He was employed by Arute Brothers Construction Company for 40 years as superintendent of bridges until his retirement in 1985. Member of Sandy Creek United Methodist Church, Cable Trail VFW Post #8534 in Lacona and volunteered for many years at the Friendship Thrift Shoppe and Sandy Creek United Methodist Church. Vic enjoyed ice fishing, wood working and family./ppSurvived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret “Maggie” Potish, 4 daughters, Nancy Ridgeway of Lacona, Paulette (Gaylord) Lindsey of Sandy Pond, Peggy (Frank) Manchester of Lacona, and Vicki Affinati of West Monroe; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by 4 sisters, 3 brothers and a son-in-law, Donald Ridgeway./ppIn keeping with his wishes, there were no calling hours or services. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sandy Creek.
