pPhillip H. McGrath, 81, Lane Road, Henderson passed away Tuesday, June 14th at the Samaritan Medical Center where he had been a patient since June 7th. /ppA celebration of life for Phillip will be from 12-3 pm Saturday, June 25th at the Henderson Fire Hall. /ppBorn January 10, 1935 in Belleville, NY, a son to Glenn and Norma Lane McGrath he attended school at Henderson Central. He married Gloria M. Rabetoy May 11, 1986 at their home in Henderson. Mrs. McGrath died July 22, 2014./ppMr. McGrath worked many years for his brother-in-law Ken Burley as a carpenter/mason and later on with his lifelong friend Shirley Maitland in the Henderson Harbor and surrounding area. His love for the outdoors led him to spend many days enjoying duck hunting and fishing in the waters of Lake Ontario. He also loved the time he spent in his gardens. /ppHis most recent joys were those times spent with his 3 closest grandchildren, Landon, Austin and Drake McGrath. /ppSurviving is his son Phillip (Jenna), Henderson; 3 step children, Shellie (Michael) Orloff, Rodman; Kellie (Michael) Stoner, Henderson; Patrick (Robin) Rabetoy, Belleville, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are 5 sisters, Merle Vrooman, Belleville; Arlene Burley, Adams; Betty Laird, Sodus; Ella “Jane” Gordan, Belleville and Norma Jean Kellar, Fl. /ppBesides his wife and parents, Phillip was predeceased by his brothers, Glenn Jr., Howard and his sister, Kathleen “Kitty” Brett. /ppArrangements are with the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Inc. /pp On line condolences may be made at www.carpenterstoodley.com/p
