pRobert E. Farley died at his home in Sarasota, Florida on July 2, 2016. Born in 1923 to the late Edward and Laura Burns Farley, he was one of six brothers. He is survived by his wife, Jean Partisch Farley and was predeceased by his first wife, the late Patricia Trayser and their son Peter Farley. He is also survived by two of his brothers, John W. Farley and Senator Hugh T. Farley as well as his daughters, Janet Caldwell, Lynn Philbin, Jean Graham, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren./ppRobert was a graduate of St. Lawrence University where he earned both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees. He was a Guidance Counselor at Watertown High School for many years./ppHe had a distinguished military career serving in the Army as a Combat MP. During WWII he landed at Utah Beach, fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was one of the “four in a jeep” during the occupation of Vienna, Austria. His military career is memorialized in a museum in Vienna./ppRobert enjoyed playing bridge and traveling, and he was an accomplished artist./ppServices and interment will be in Watertown, NY in September.
