pCARTHAGE- Michael Robert Young, 74, formerly of 63 Madison Street, died on Monday, August 01, 2016 at the Lewis County General Hospital. He was born on June 18, 1942 in Syracuse, New York the son of the late, Robert and Antoinette Listas Young. He graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1961. /ppHe married Margaret Strife on June 6, 1964 at the St. Stephens Church. The couple has three children, two sons, Michael Young, Watertown; Mark and Angela Young, Carthage; a daughter, Mary and her husband Ronald Mayer, Arizona, and a step son, Tyler Moroughan. He is also survived by three grandchildren, RJ Mayer, Cody Young, and Zachary Young./ppHe was a tester, for Boise Cascade Company an American manufacturer and distributor of lumber & building materials./ppHe was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, the Beaver River fishing and game club where he was an avid hunter, he also enjoyed woodworking./ppA Memorial Service will be held in the LUNDY Chapel on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:30am with the Reverend, Donald Robinson officiating, he is the pastor of the St. James Catholic Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., located at 500 State Street in Carthage.
