pBrasie Corners - Wayne Allen Serviss, 63, passed away at his home in Brasie Corners early on Sunday, August 7, 2016. /ppWayne was born in Watertown, N.Y. on August 18, 1952, the son of George “Buck Shot” and Helen LaMora Serviss./ppHe graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1971 and went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1971- 1975./ppWayne married Joanie Brasie on July 31, 1982 at the Brasie Corners Presbyterian Church./ppWayne worked for N.Y. State, welding bridges, Gouverneur Roofing, and Gouverneur Talc, prior to starting his own business in 1998, Serviss Welding and Sheet Metal. He was a master welder and was well known for his talent and skills for working with sheet metal and wrought iron. /ppWayne was an avid hunter, fisherman, and chef. He loved music, animals, spending time with friends and family, especially his granddaughter, Taylor, and driving in his “Ghetto Cruiser.” /ppHe is survived by his wife Joanie, his daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Paul Cappellino, his son Jacob, granddaughter Taylor Rae, sisters Michelle and Clark Jennings, Mae and Todd DeLisle, brothers George and Debra Serviss, Jimmie and Jennifer Serviss, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, sisters Vicky and Mary, a brother Richard and a nephew Travis. /ppA memorial service for Wayne will be held on Sunday, August 28 at 12 noon at the VFW in Gouverneur. Arrangements are with the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur./ppMemorial donations in Wayne’s memory may be made to Friends 4 Pound Paws, PO Box 394, Gouverneur, NY 13642 or the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049. /p
