pThe memorial service for Ruth J. Williams will be 1 pm Saturday, August 27th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home with Pastor Loren Widrick officiating. Burial will be private. Calling hours are on Saturday from 11 am – 1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home./ppMrs. Williams, 79, formerly of Adams and Lorraine, passed away August 17th at her home in Harrisville./ppShe is survived by four daughters, Juanita (Steven) Lancor, Harrisville; Corrien Shoemaker, Leland, NC; Stephanie (Leon) Vaughn, Carthage; Jacqueline Fuller, Alexandria Bay; two sons, Kevin (Valarie) Fuller, Adams; Patrick (Leeza) Fuller, Stanfield, NC; step children Tina (Keith) Ritz, Rodman and Susie Jennings, Central Square; 14 grandchildren And 7 great grandchildren; two brothers Samuel (Betty) Burns, FL; Ed (Janice) Burns, Sandy Creek; a sister Sarah (John) Drews, Copenhagen; many nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by a sister Virginia Snyder and four brothers Robert, Osborn, John and James Burns./ppRuth was born in Stringfied, Miss., April 20, 1937, a daughter to Thomas and Dahlia Halbrooks Burns. She was a nurse’s aid at several nursing homes in the area to include the Hillcrest and Samaritan Keep Homes. Ruth retired from the House of the Good Samaritan hospital housekeeping department./ppShe was a member of the Grace Community Church and the American Legion auxiliary./ppRuth married George “Mel” Williams August 30, 1974. Mr. and Mrs. Williams lived on Elmwood Ave. in Adams for many years. They later moved to Lorraine where Mr. Williams passed on February 3, 1998. Ruth moved to Harrisville in 2013.
