Roger Fiaschetti

pRoger Fiaschetti, 82, Hinds Road, Watertown, passed away Wednesday evening, August 31, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family./ppRoger was born February 26, 1934 in Watertown a son of Enrico (Henry) and Martha Guida Fiaschetti. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1954. Roger was a member of the last January graduating class from the old high school on Sterling Street./ppRoger married Suzanne K. O’Hara on September 29, 1956, at Holy Family Church in Watertown, by Msgr. Albert J. Farrell./ppIn the restaurant business most of his life, he introduced the first submarine sandwich to the North Country in the early 60’s. Roger operated Three Brothers Snack Bar on Rt. 3 and later outside of Ft. Drum in Black River. He sold and contracted Lincoln Log Homes and later Real Log Homes for several years./ppHis love of horses and dogs gave him the opportunity to exhibit and judge German Shorthair Pointers, traveling extensively throughout the country. Roger could fix anything and was an excellent woodworker./ppSurviving are his wife, Suzanne, a son, Luke and his wife Amy, Syracuse, a daughter, Lisa and her companion Tim Collins, Watertown, grandchildren, Rylie, Sydney and Spencer Fiaschetti, Jett and Micki Collins, several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Anthony, Richard and James, five sisters, Mary C. Fox, Virginia J. McCrea, Gilda Cowick, Pauline A. Wiley, Theresa G. Kallay and a grandson Nicolas Aiden Fiaschetti, all died previously./ppRoger was a member of the Sacred Heart Foundation, the Jefferson County Historical Society and a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church./ppA special thanks to Hospice of Jefferson County who enabled Roger to stay in his home that he restored and loved. Also, a thank you to his caregivers, Bonnie, Julie and Denise./ppPer Rogers request there will be no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 11am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Vincent Freeh officiating. All that attend are invited for refreshments in Dostie Hall following the service.
