pFort Covington - Lawrence Mayville, 84, passed away at his home with his family by his side on Monday, September 12, 2016. Arrangements are with the Flint Funeral Home, Moria. /ppBorn on January 8, 1932, in Fort Covington, NY the son of the late Charles and Roseanna (Hart) Mayville. On December 6, 1952 Lawrence married the love of his life Joyce Lamb at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Covington. Lawrence worked for Elliot & Hutchins for a short period of time. He and his wife operated a small dairy farm until he went to work for General Motors where he retired in 1988 after 25 years. Lawrence had a real liking for working on small engines, lawn mowers, farm machinery, enjoying his dogs, cats, and watching baseball and hockey. His really passion was restoring his Farmall 100, Farmall C and his rare Farmall Earth Master out of California. Lawrence was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fort Covington, UAW 465, Antique Tractor Pullers Association and the Adirondack Tractor Pullers Association. /ppSpecial memories will forever be in the hearts of his wife Joyce; daughters Maureen Mayville of North Port Florida and Traci and Charlie Perrotta of Albany; son Kevin and Kathy Mayville of Fort Covington along with 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. /ppFriends are invited to a graveside service, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Covington. Memorial Contributions in Lawrence’s honor may be made to Hospice of the North Country’; 3909 State Route 11; Malone, NY 12953 or to North Country Animal Shelter; 194 Bare Hill Road; Malone, NY 12953. /ppCondolences and memories may be shared with the Mayville family at www.flintfuneralhomeny.com. /p
