pJane Sanford McCurdy passed away July 3rd, 2016, in San Jose, California at the age of 83./ppJane was born in Ogdensburg, New York on June 27th, 1933, the daughter of Attorney and Judge Donald E. Sanford and Isabella Dollar Sanford, a French and English Teacher. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1951 and received a Bachelor of Arts in American Civilization from Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania in 1955. She then graduated from the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City and accepted a position as legal secretary in a Phoenix law firm. /ppShe married Dudley McCurdy, a mechanical engineer, in 1957. They lived in Boston, Swampscott, and Topsfield, Massachusetts and York Harbor, Maine before moving to San Jose, California when Dudley accepted a position with Philco-Ford in Palo Alto./ppJane and Dudley are the parents of five children: Mark, James, Meg Chase, Beth Underwood and Amy Leite, all of California. Jane was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 57 years, Dudley McCurdy, and her brother Donald E. Sanford, Jr. of Buffalo, New York. She is survived by her brother, Dr. Douglas M. Sanford of Watertown, New York, her sister Ruth Sanford Alpaugh of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and seven grandchildren./ppA memorial service was held at Hillside Presbyterian Church in San Jose on September 3rd, 2016./p
