Patricia R. Tubbs

pMassena: Patricia R. Tubbs, 59, residing on Westwood Drive, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday evening, September 29, 2016 in the presence of her loving family members and in the care of Hospice. /ppPat was born on June 20, 1957 in Parma, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Eleanor (Archimovich) Pohlchuck. After high school, she continued her education at Heidelberg University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English. Pat married the love of her life, John C. Tubbs on November 18, 1989 at St. Mary’s Church in Columbus Ohio. She moved with her family to Massena, New York in 1999 and continued her profession as a writer, establishing JP Tubbs Company and focusing on grants and fundraising for Not-For-Profits in Northern New York. Through her efforts, organizations succeeded in obtaining grant funding, constructing and expanding facilities, and in running successful fundraising, capital and endowment campaigns. In addition to these campaigns, she obtained grant awards of nearly $50 M working with dozens of organizations, businesses and municipalities./ppA lifelong lover of music, Pat was a strong proponent of the value of music in our schools. She helped found the Massena Music Friends, supporting the purchase of instruments and programs that are beyond the capacity of the school. She excelled at taking an idea and making it a reality, and supported many other groups for the betterment of the community, including Moving Massena Forward, a coalition planning for the future of Massena. /ppPat is survived by her husband, John C. Tubbs, and her three sons – Spencer residing in Providence, Rhode Island; Mitchell residing in Tampa, Florida and Drake of Massena. Pat is also survived by her two sisters, Carol Mason of Seven Hills, Ohio, and Sally Bodziony of Parma, Ohio along with a number of nieces and nephews./ppFriends and family may be received on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena. At the request of the family, there will be no public service.
