pCARTHAGE – Ronald C. Clemons, 81, of Carthage, NY and Bushnell, Florida, died Saturday morning, October 8, 2016 at his home, under the care of his daughters and Hospice of Jefferson County./ppBorn in Carthage on May 13, 1935, the son of Edward and Ina Pease Clemons. After graduating from Carthage Schools, he served in the United States Army. He married Joyce A. McCallops on July 7, 1956 in Great Bend. Ron retired after a long career at the St. Regis/Champion International Paper Mill./ppHe was a member of the Black River Masonic Lodge and the Bethany O.E.S, the Champion Grange and the Woolworth Memorial UMC./ppRon is survived by his four daughters; Karen Clemons, DeKalb Junction, Mary (Michael) Green, Montague, Sandra (Brent) Atwood, Whitney Point and Jeanette (Calvin) Bush, Carthage as well as five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. /ppHe is predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Joyce, who died May 6th, 2014 in Carthage, as well as their son, Ronald A. Clemons, who passed away in March 2013, his two brothers; Harry Clemons and E. Stanley Clemons and his grandson, Jeremy Atwood in 2004./ppA celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 11:00 AM at the Woolworth Memorial United Methodist Church, Great Bend.
