pMarvin “Willie” Strate, 84, a native of Edwards, passed away September 9, 2016 in Washington, where he resided./ppA graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd at 11:00 am at Spragueville Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Pine Grove Housing on Barney Street in Gouverneur./ppMarvin was born January 26, 1932 in Edwards, the son of Floyd and Beulah Fuller Strate./ppHe attended Gouverneur schools and served in the United States Army for 2 years during the Korean conflict./ppWillie moved to Sumer, WA in 1965 and worked at Warehouser Manufacturing Company until his retirement./ppWillie married Sandra Mathous of Oxbow, was married to the late Eleanor Quaills Bleau, and is survived by his wife Arleen. He is also survived by his children Cindy, Debbie, and Gary, his stepchildren and grandchildren, 2 sisters- in –law Lucy Strate and Lois Strate of Gouverneur, several nieces, nephews, and cousins./p
