pRuth (Wylde) Hagan, 105 of Mannsville, NY passed away peacefully October 27, 2016./ppShe was born on October 6, 1911 in Jamesville, NY to the late Joseph and Margaret (Russell) Wylde. Ruth graduated from North High School, Syracuse, NY in 1929. In 1932 she graduated from Syracuse Normal School with her Teaching Certificate. In later years she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Oswego. She began her teaching career at the one room schoolhouse in Worth Center, NY./ppRuth married Floyd K. Hagan on April 4, 1936 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Adams, NY. The couple resided in Mannsville where they owned and operated the Edge O’Town Farm. Ruth continued her teaching career at the Mannsville Manor Elementary School from 1942 until her retirement in 1974./ppRuth is survived by three children, Roberta and Paul Evans, Samuel Hagan and his companion Bonnie Fyderek and Patricia Schilpp; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Floyd, son Dr. David K.Hagan. D.V.M.and son in law Ronald Schilpp./ppShe was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, founding member of Mannsville Manor Rescue Squad, NYS, Retired Teachers Association, SUNY Oswego Alumni, Order of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included square dancing, painting ceramic nativity sets, knitting hats for babies at SMC, sewing and enjoying her family./ppCalling Hours will be Friday November 4th from 3pm-7pm at the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek. The Funeral Service will be 11am Saturday November 5th at Zion Episcopal Church in Pierrepont Manor.
