pHARRISVILLE, NY ~ Jesse Jon Ritz, 26, of 14217 South Creek Rd., Harrisville, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in the Town of Pitcairn in St. Lawrence County./ppBorn December 21, 1989 in Carthage, NY, the son of Kevin J. and Sherri L. Pate Ritz, he was a 2008 graduate of Harrisville Central School./ppFollowing high school and for the next two years, he went to work as a live line trimmer for Lewis Tree Service, based in Henrietta, NY. In 2010, he accepted a position with Clover Construction, out of Watertown, and worked as a construction foreman on the Eagle Ridge Apartment Complex on Route 342. He later became employed by Cowles Company of Northern New York as an HVAC technician/foreman handling new installations and a variety of service work throughout the North Country. He was known as a highly-skilled technician and mentor to other employees and was still employed at the time of his death./ppWhen not working, Jesse enjoyed anything outdoors, especially fishing and hunting and had shot a buck three days prior to his death, and above all, he loved spending time with his family, particularly with his 6 year old daughter, Carly./ppHe had a heart as big as his size and will always be remembered for helping anyone he could. His smile was infectious, and his reputation for lifting people up with his low key, always happy demeanor will never be forgotten./ppHe is survived by his daughter, Carly M. Hatch, and fiancée, Rachel A. Hatch, both of Hermon; his mother and step-father, Sherri L. and Dominick M. Bango, of Harrisville, his brother and his fiancée, Jake D. Ritz and Kaity Champagne, of Harrisville; his maternal grandmother, Linda L. Pate, of Carthage; his paternal grandmother, Betty Leonard, of Harrisville, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins./ppHe was predeceased by his father, Kevin J. Ritz, who died on June 30, 1991 at age 27 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, his maternal grandfather, Richard Pate, and his paternal grandfather, Richard Ritz./ppA funeral service for Jesse will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Department, 14226 Church St., Harrisville, with the Rev. Christopher Looby, Pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Evans Mills, officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Solanus Cemetery, Harrisville. A funeral luncheon will be held in the social hall of the Harrisville Fire Department./ppCalling hours will be on Friday, November 4th, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Scanlon Funeral Home, Inc., 14187 State St., Harrisville./ppIn lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trust Fund for (his daughter) Carly M.
