pFuneral services for Rebecca C. Brunet, age 93 of Ogdensburg will be held at 9:00am on November 18, 2016 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery./ppCalling hours will be held on Thursday (Nov 17th) from 4:00 – 7:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Brunet passed away on Tuesday morning at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility./ppSurviving is her children; a son William Brunet & his companion Sue Leeder of Black Lake; daughters Lorraine Todd & her husband Robert of Delray Beach FL, Veronica Russell & her husband Thomas of Clifton Park, Mary Brunet and her husband Kurt Plagge of Ames IA, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister Rita Blevins of Potsdam; a brother Donald Cook and his wife Lula of Hermon along with several nieces, nephews./ppShe was predeceased by her husband Francis on June 5th 2011; sisters Margaret Kirkey, Marion Reed and a brother Bernard who died at a young age./ppRebecca was born in Hermon on March 28, 1923, the daughter of Roy and Veronica (Tiernan) Cook. She attended Hermon Schools and later married Francis Brunet on March 28, 1941 in Dekalb at St. Henry’s Church. She and her husband owned and operated a farm in Hermon and later moved to the Village of Hermon for many years. She attended the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital School of Nursing and relocated to Tupper Lake where she worked at Sunmount Hospital while attending the Adirondack Community College and received her further degrees. Following retirement, the couple moved to North Carolina and later spent many years with family and friends in Delray Beach FL./ppMemorial contributions can be made to Notre Dame Church Heritage Fund or a charity of one’s choice.
