pMASSENA- Mr. John L. “Jack” Morgan, 67, of 78 Highland Ave, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 16, 2016 at his home./ppJack was born August 24, 1949 in Massena, the son of the late George F. and Mildred A. Mackey and graduated from Massena High School in 1967. On July 12, 1975, he married Joanne Gage at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Timothy Chambers, celebrating. /ppJack proudly served his country and community, serving in the US Army Reserves and Massena Volunteer Fire Department for 42 years, holding many offices including Fire Chief in 1997. Jack was a millright at Alcoa, retiring after 34 years of service. In addition, he sold cars for Massena Lincoln-Mercury and Fay Motors. After his retirement, he worked for the Donaldson Funeral Home up until the time of his death. As an avid golfer, he was a member of the Massena Country Club and enjoyed golfing on many courses around the North Country and in Florida. Jack was also a member of the Italian-American Civic Organization and was a regular at the Via Main Restaurant with his coffee and breakfast buddies. He was an avid Clarkson Hockey fan and was a handyman to many – he truly enjoyed lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Of all his hobbies and enjoyments, his greatest were the precious memories and time he had with his family, friends, and his grandsons./ppJack is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; his daughters, Katie and Justin Walsh of Liverpool; Kelli Morgan and Nicole Morgan, both of Clay; his grandsons, Tyler and Jake Walsh; his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Tom Chambers of Brasher Falls, his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carol Morgan of Massena; and several nieces and nephews./ppIn addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by a niece, Kimberly Chamber in 1999./ppFriends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena, Friday 2-4 and 6-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart.
