pOn November 26, 2016 Mamie (Michaelena) Ciotti joined her late husband, Frank P. Ciotti, in eternal rest. She is fondly remembered by friends and will be greatly missed and loved forever by her daughter, Wanda, her grandchildren, Deborah and Steven and their spouses, Kevin and Erika, her great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexander, Raith, Brenna and Kayden as well as four generations of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by all seven of her siblings. /ppMamie is the daughter of the late Anna and Kazimierz Zelazowski and was born February 12, 1918 in Martinsburg, NY. She attended Lowville Academy and moved to Utica, NY after her marriage to Alexander Dauksza who passed away in 1943. During WWII she worked as a physical therapist aide at Rhoads Military Hospital in Utica. After the war she was employed as a seamstress in Utica./ppIn 1957 she married Frank Ciotti and moved to La Fayette, NY where she lived until 2006. She was a communicant at St. James Church and a member of the Thirteenth of the Month Rosary Circle. Throughout her life Mamie enjoyed taking care of her beautiful gardens, became an extraordinary seamstress/tailor and quietly performed good deeds for family and friends. Toward the end of her life she fulfilled a long- time dream of helping to support needy children through the St. Kateri Haiti Project. /ppA calling hour will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 am. at St. James Church in Syracuse, NY, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
