pMASSENA- Alice Elizabeth Roy Conant, 103, formerly of Laurel Terrace and Watertown, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at the St. Regis Nursing Home where she had been a resident since 2014./ppAlice was born December 18, 1912 in Alexandria Bay, daughter of the late William and Bridget Alice Menary Roy. She attended schools in Alexandria Bay, and married Lieweillyn John “Jack” Conant on June 28, 1932 at St. Cyril’s Catholic Church with Rev. Tierney officiating. Jack predeceased her on February 13, 1965./ppAlice moved to Massena in July of 1994 to be near her daughter and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, Bingo and Shuffleboard. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, and in her earlier years cooking and sewing./ppShe is survived by her children, Marilyn DeCelles of Massena; and Sandra and Mark Powell of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews./ppIn addition to her parents and husband, Alice was predeceased by two sisters, Eva Garlock and Jane Ward; and five brothers, William, Louis, Edwin, Lawrence and Robert Roy./ppFriends may call at the Donaldson Funeral Home Thursday 3-6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mark R. Reilly, celebrating.
