pHARRISVILLE – Lucy Berger Rich, 60, 14206 Mullin St., died at home on Saturday morning, December 3rd./ppBorn in Gouverneur on May 26, 1956, the daughter of Francis H. & Naomi E. Woodward Hoffman; she graduated from Harrisville Central School with the Class of 1974. /ppShe met Brian Berger during the summer of 1974 and they were married in Berwick,Pennsylvania in January of 1975. Her son Carl was born in July of 1975, they divorced and she returned to Harrisville. /ppShe was formerly employed by Scanlon’s Bakery from the early 1980’s through the early 1990’s, then she worked at the Village Inn until 1993. She adopted her children Eleetah and Stacey Rich in July, 2007. She was an active church member and enjoyed crocheting and knitting./ppLucy is survived by her children, Carl A. Berger, Harrisville, Eleetah Rich, Croghan, and Stacey Rich, Harrisville, along with her sister, Verna Foy, Fall River, Massachusetts. Three Nephews, An Aunt, And many Cousins and extended family./ppHer brother, Francis M. “Joe” Hoffman is predeceased./ppA memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 8th at 11:00 AM at the Harrisville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Francis Hemstreet, Pastor, officiating. Calling hours will be held at the Church on Wednesday, December 7th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. A social gathering and luncheon will be held at the Weslyan church in Pitcairn, NY /ppFuneral arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage./p
