pHarold C. Fox, 92, Graves St., Clayton passed away at his home on Monday, December 5, 2016/ppA calling hour will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 320 John St., Clayton on Saturday from 4:30 - 5:15PM followed by the funeral service at 5:30PM with Pastor Thomas Augliano, River Community Church, presiding. Burial in Ogdensburg Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family./ppHarold was born in Ogdensburg on January 12, 1924, son of Harold W. and Evelyn Foster Fox. He was a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy, received his B. S. in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson College and his Masters in Education from St. Lawrence University./ppHe enlisted in the US Army on December 14, 1942, serving actively from April 1, 1943 until his honorable discharge on February 26, 1946 as a Staff Sergeant. He received the World War II Victory, Good Conduct, American Service, and Asiatic Pacific Service Medals./ppOn November 21, 1950 he married Lu Dodge at First Presbyterian Church, Ogdensburg and Mrs. Fox died August 12, 2015./ppMr. Fox was a high school teacher at Thousand Islands Central School, serving the district for 28 years until his retirement in 1987. During his teaching years, he worked summers for U. S. Customs. He was a member of Clayton First Baptist Church and a former member of both the American Legion Colon Couch Post 821 in Clayton and the Masonic Lodge in Ogdensburg. He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball, which he coached during his time at Thousand Islands Central./ppHe is survived by his two children, Thomas D. Fox and wife, Gail Witherspoon, Blacksburg, VA and Bonny A.
