pLOWVILLE – Burnell E. Barnes, 67, passed away at his home on Friday, December 9, 2016./ppHe was born on June 16, 1949 in Lowville the twin son of the late Dr. Earle E. Barnes, Jr. and Marion Sunderhaft Barnes. Burnell graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School in 1967, and Manlius military school in 1968. He went on to graduate from Syracuse University. He worked in genetic research and engineering for Ecogen./ppBurnell was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Lowville where he served as past deacon. He enjoyed scuba diving, hand gun shooting, and water skiing./ppSurviving is his twin brother, Bruce Barnes of Westchester, IL; his sister Bette Di Leonardi of Chicago, IL; three nieces, Barbara Boules, Stephanie Barnes, and Laura Barnes; and Burnell’s long time special friend, Gale Swiecki of New Hartford.
