Gladys C. LaLone

pGladys C. LaLone, 87 formerly of Pillar Point, Dexter passed away Monday morning at the home of her daughter Marie on Smith Corners Road, Madrid. She was under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley and her family./ppGladys was born December 22, 1928 in the Town of Champion, the daughter of Harry and Cleva Gardner Wilton. She attended school at Sackets Harbor High School. She married Clifton G. LaLone on January 1, 1947 at the Brownville Methodist Parsonage. The couple lived on Pillar Point and Clifton passed away in 1998./ppGladys continued living on Pillar Point and worked as a waitress at the New Parrot Restaurant and Ann’s Stand in Watertown until she retired in 1992. She moved to Madrid to be with her daughter just a few years ago./ppGladys is survived by her daughter Marie LaLone and her husband Thomas Lee of Madrid; Pamela Bowman of Summerfield, Florida, daughter-in-law Laurel LaLone of Dexter, eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She has two sisters: Anita Roach of Sulphur Springs and Joyce Simpson of Lexington, KY, a brother James and Vineta Wilton of Watertown, nieces and nephews./ppA son Clifton LaLone Jr. passed away May 8, 2011 and brothers Curtis and Robert Wilton predeceased her./ppCalling hours will be held Saturday February 27th from 2-4 at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be in the spring at Dexter Cemetery with a graveside service. Donations may be made to the Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley 6805 US Highway 11 Potsdam, NY 13676.
