Carole Ann Raymo

Norfolk: Carole Ann Raymo, 76, of Norfolk NY, went home to be with her Lord on February 2, 2017. She was born in Norwood NY to Antonio Nepolian Joseph Treffley Rose and Ada Mae Sheets (Rose) on April 10, 1940. She went to Madrid Waddington Central School and graduated in 1959. She attended Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing in Yonkers NY and obtained her LPN license in 1962. She worked at Massena Memorial Hospital as a nurse before she quit to raise her six children. She enjoyed raising her family, good movies, dancing, cooking, playing cards (especially pinochle) and putting together jigsaw puzzles. She had the gift of hospitality and loved spending time with family and friends, feeding them until they were bursting at the seams. She was president of the Madrid NY Legion Auxiliary and Secretary of the Seaway Valley Senior Citizens. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Upstate Community Hospital, Syracuse NY and Highland Nursing Home, Massena NY for their support in her final days.

She is predeceased by her parents, and survived by her loving husband of 54 years, William (Bill) Raymo; their six children, Danny (Jennifer), Scott (Lydia), Lisa (Paul), Paul (Brenda), Kevin (Heather) and Mike (Stacey); their ten grandchildren (Tyler, Justin, Tim, Charlotte, Jodelle, Trevor, Hannah, Hope, Jacob, Noah); seven siblings, Marilyn (Willie predeceased) Snyder, Lillian (Richard) Moon, Nan (Jim predeceased) Knight, Ronnie (Diane) Rose, Linda (Don) Martish, Connie Rose, Nelson (Teresa) Rose; and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St, Massena NY on February 3, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm -8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at New Testament Church, 265 Andrews St, Massena NY on Feb. 4, 2017 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Bixby Cemetery, Norfolk NY. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
