Amy L. Hyde

Amy L. Hyde, 42, of Clayton passed away on Saturday morning, February 11, 2017, at River Hospital, Alexandria Bay.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 320 John St., Clayton on Thursday, February 16, from 4 - 7PM. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 17, at River Community Church at 11AM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Lawrence Cemetery, town of Cape Vincent.

Amy was born in White Plains on February 27, 1974, daughter of Angelo and Maryann (Skeans) Perruccio. The family moved to the north country and she attended Thousand Islands Central School.

On September 19, 1992 she married Jeffery P. Schafer at St. Mary’s Church, Clayton and he passed on May 9, 2004. She then married Wesley W. Hyde in Frink Park, Clayton on August 17, 2013.

Amy had worked at the Harbor Inn diner and was currently a server at the Seaway Grill in the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel, both in Clayton.

She attended River Community Church. She enjoyed camping with her family and cooking for them and her many friends. She was a Grateful Dead fan, loved the outdoors, was generous to a fault, was free-spirited and loved everyone very much, and enjoyed making work fun for her co-workers. Above all, she was a caring mother and her grandchildren were her world.

Besides her husband, Wesley, Amy is survived by her three children, Jami E. Schafer, Cape Vincent, and Hunter P. Schafer and Jillian N. Schafer, both of Clayton; her two grandchildren, Jacob and Jordyn Howard; her parents, Angelo and Maryann Perruccio, Boynton Beach, FL; her father and mother-in-law, John N. and Karen Hyde I, Clayton; four siblings and their spouses, Frances and Henry LaClair, Clayton, Nicholas and Jodi Perruccio and Terri and Jeff Stubblefield, all of Boynton Beach, FL, and Angela and Stephen Thomas, Clayton; two aunts, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
