LaFargeville; Mr. Raymond W. Papin, 92, of County Rte. 3, died Tuesday at Samaritan Medical Center. Per his request there will be no calling hours. There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday at 2pm, at the Omar Methodist Church, with Reverend Steven Garrett, his Grandson, officiating.
Ray was born August 25th, 1924, in the Town of Clayton, the son Peter G. and Gertrude Luffman Papin.
He attended Watertown Schools.
On August 17th, 1954, he married Joyce Baltz in Baltimore, MD.
Ray farmed his whole life. He was a horseman, and he bought and sold many farms around the area.
He was a former member of the LaFargeville Lions Club.
Surviving besides his wife Joyce are five children, Ted and Dale of LaFargeville, Peter (Joyce) of Redwood, Rick of Watertown, and Ronda Jones and her companion Justin Halladay of Croghan; numerous grand and great grandchildren; one sister, Patricia; one brother, Robert (Nancy) of North Carolina; nieces and nephews.
One son John, died in 2011. Also, one brother James, and two sisters Bea Robinson and Mable Schwander, died before him.
Donations can be made in his name to a charity of ones choice.
