CAPE VINCENT, NY- Craig “Buzz” Francis Schoff, 84, of South Esselstyne St., passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at his home surrounded by family and friends and under the care of Hospice of Jefferson County.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape Vincent, NY.
A funeral service will be Saturday, February 25 at 10 AM at St. Vincent of Paul Church in Cape Vincent, NY. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring. The family invites all to a luncheon at the Cape Vincent Fire Hall after the funeral service.
Craig was born November 14, 1932 in Hilton, NY the son of Joseph and Caroline Kettenburg Schoff. After completing high school, Craig joined the Air Force in 1953 where he was honorably discharged in 1957. He then went into electronical work as a technician for FFA located in Watertown, NY. Upon his retirement from FFA in 1991 he went to work for Raytheon and later Lockhead Martin where he was a supervisor and traveled the East Coast for 19 years. He retired at 81 years old.
He married Roxanna Maxwell on June 22nd 1957 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas. They’ve shared almost 60 wonderful years together.
Craig was a co-founder of the Cape Vincent Ambulance. He was a life member of the Cape Vincent Fire Dept. Craig enjoyed going duck hunting and fishing. He also loved the time spent with his loyal dogs. Craig enjoyed gardening, cooking and grocery shopping. He was a true family man.
Surviving besides his wife Roxanna, is a son, Joseph Schoff, Cape Vincent; a daughter, Nicole and Bruce Mason, Cape Vincent; three grandchildren, Amity Schoff, Spencer Mason, and Lauren Mason all of Cape Vincent; and several nieces and nephews.
Craig is predeceased by his parents and his two brothers, Richard and Raymond Schoff.
