Funeral services for Francis A. Morrison Sr. age 81 of Lisbon, will be held on Sunday (March 5, 2017) at 4:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Lay Speaker Scott LaBarge officiating.
Calling hours will be held also on Sunday from 12:00pm until the time of the funeral. Francis died Thursday (March 2, 2017) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Surviving are his children Francis Morrison Jr., Lee (Angie) Morrison both of Lisbon, Janice (Evan) Poole of Canton, Eleanor (Elmer) Parmeter of Lisbon and Amy Morrison of Ogdensburg; a brother James Morrison of Canton; a sister Helen Smithers & her companion Roy Sharlow of Heuvelton; grandchildren Elmer & Emily Parmeter, Matthew & Melinda Morrison, Karen (Vinny) Ballester, Sharon Poole and Ellymae Rathburn.
He was predeceased by his wife Doris, a brother Carl Morrison, a sister Jane Winters, a sister-in-law Dorothy Morrison and a grandson Sam St. Pierre.
Francis was born on February 18, 1936 in Lisbon NY, a son of the late Orrin & Flora (Burnside) Morrison. He attended Lisbon Country School and Lisbon Central for his education. He later married Doris F. Fuller on July 22, 1954 with Rev. Jock officiating their marriage.
Francis owned and operated a dairy farm in Lisbon for many years and concurrently worked at Hacketts Hardware, Ken Dawley’s, Trimm’s Automotive, John McBath’s and Winter’s Milk Hauling during his working years. He was an active volunteer fireman with the Lisbon Fire Department for 56 years, and he enjoyed repairing things of all kinds, being around people, square dancing, snowmobiling, racing motorcycles and stock cars, watching hockey games in Canada, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
