Patricia Paddock Eastman, 73, died Sunday, March 5th, with her family by her side at the farm in Ellisburg, NY.
Mrs. Eastman was born October 7,1943, in Alexandria Bay, NY, the daughter of Lawrence and Kareta Sullivan Paddock, Hammond.
Patricia graduated from Hammond Central School in 1961 and from SUNY Albany with a bachelors degree in business education in 1965. After graduation, she married John B. Eastman, Ellisburg, and taught at Sandy Creek Central School while also assisting with the family dairy farm. Mrs. Eastman earned her masters degree in education from SUNY Potsdam, and retired from South Jefferson Central School as a middle school Spanish teacher in 2006.
Mrs. Eastman was an avid traveler, and particularly loved traveling to Spanish-speaking countries where she could practice the language. Through professional and personal trips, she traveled to Spain, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Honduras, and Costa Rica.
She was an active member of the Ellisburg United Methodist Church, Ellisburg Free Library, Order of the Eastern Stars, Union Grange, and enjoyed caring for her children and grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 51 years, John; three sons and a daughter, Steven (Tracey) Eastman, Adams; Deborah (Aaron) Nelson, Alameda, CA; Charles (Diana) Eastman, Mannsville; and Timothy (Rebecca) Eastman, Adams. She is also survived by three brothers, Fred (Sally) Paddock, Hammond; Daniel (Katherine) Paddock, Clayton; and Paul (Robin) Paddock, Dexter; ten grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling Hours are scheduled for Friday, March 10th from 5-7 pm. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 11th at 11 am. Both will be held at the Ellisburg United Methodist Church.
