Beverly J. Maguire, 86, of Malone, New York, passed away Friday night, March 10, 2017, at the UVM Health Network-Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone with her loving and supportive family by her side.
Born in Malone on Oct. 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Alvia and Grace Brisbane Beane. She graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone in 1948.
On April 21, 1951, she was united in marriage to James F. Maguire at Sacred Heart Church in Lake George, New York. He predeceased her on May 4, 2006.
Bev was a homemaker and mother to four very active boys. She was a communicant of St. André Bessette Parish at St. Joseph’s Church in Malone. She was a long-time member of the Malone Ladies of the Elks and the Malone American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, gardening skiing and hunting.
Survivors include three sons and four daughters-in-law, Craig and Nora Maguire of Baldwinsville, New York, William and Beth Maguire of Adams Center, New York, Michael and Lisette Maguire of Malone and Dorothy Maguire of Webster, New York; one brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Joan Beane of Malone; one sister, Muriel Cushman of King City, Oregon; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one son, James John Maguire in 2014; and one grandson, Jason Maguire.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone, New York. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Spring burial will be held on April 25, 2017, at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on the Lake Titus Road in Malone, New York.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Malone Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department or to the Alice Ballard Fund of Hospice of the North Country Inc. in Malone.
