Robert J. Dyer, Jr., 89, Rt. 126, Watertown, died Tuesday March 14, 2017 at Samaritan Medical Center.
Mr. Dyer was born February 29, 1928, in Watertown a son of Robert Lewis and Etta Lapatra Dyer. Mr. Dyer attended Watertown area schools. He joined the U.S. Navy during WWII and was an Electronics Technician. He married Marianne Capone. Mr. Dyer worked as a sheet metal fabricator for the George H. Hyde Company for ten years, was a union sheet metal worker and belonged to Local # 58, in Syracuse.
Mr. Dyer is a long time member of the American Legion Post #61, Watertown and was a communicant of Holy Family Church.
Surviving besides his wife, are two sons, Michael, Watertown, Robert and (Sheila Toole), Portland, Maine, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Virginia Gebo and Thelma Foley, a brother, John and a daughter Mary Mack died before him.
