PORT LEYDEN – Michael Louis Simpson, 40, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Linda M. Logan, Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, Boonville, officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the memorial service at the Lowville American Legion Post #162, 5383 Dayan St., Lowville. Any food donations may be taken directly to the American Legion after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. He is survived by his wife, Bethany; his daughter, McKenna; his step-children, Kayden and Skyler Carpenter; his mother and step-father, Frances and Robert Davies of Lowville; two brothers; Jack K. Simpson of Lowville; William Davies of Lowville; his mother and father-in-law, Sandy and Ken Allen of Port Leyden; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lewis Poore and Terry Bourgeois of Port Leyden; his sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Brad) Carpenter of Constableville; Rebecca (John) Cavanaugh of Constableville; a brother-in-law, Cory Poore of Port Leyden;a special aunt and uncle, Lori and Bruce Lyndaker; a special niece, Tayden Simpson; a special cousin, Peg Nuspliger of Lyons Falls; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and many friends who enjoyed his sense of humor. He is predeceased by his father, Thomas J. Simpson; a brother, Thomas J. Simpson; his maternal grandparents, Rose and Leo Ouellette; his paternal grandparents, Wesley and Estelle Simpson.

Michael was born on March 29, 1977 in Lowville, NY, a son of Thomas J. and Frances Ouellette Simpson. He attended Lowville Academy. He worked for Lodging Kit Company in Boonville for ten years, and more recently worked for Shue Brothers Excavating and Logging, where he really enjoyed doing trash removal. On September 27, 2008, he married Bethany M. Poore at St. Patrick’s Church, Highmarket, with Rev. Paul Joslyn officiating.

Michael enjoyed working in the woods, cutting trees and four-wheeling. He loved kayaking, hiking and camping. Most of all, he loved playing with his children, McKenna, Kayden and Skyler.
