Anthony D. Stoffel

WATERTOWN - Anthony D. Stoffel, 46, formerly of Lowville, passed away suddenly at his home in Watertown on April 12, 2017.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Grace Stoffel, of Lowville, Anne and Robert Cumella of Larchmont, Mary Humphrey of Watertown, Laurie and Bert Burnham of Watertown, Robin and Dave Engel of Lima, Gayla and David Ortlieb of Martinsburg, Theresa and Frank Born of Rome, Mike Stoffel of Watertown, Shirley Rice of New Bremen, Tim and Eileen Greenwood of New Bremen, and many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Anthony was predeceased by his father, Richard G. Stoffel, and three brothers, Timothy Stoffel, Richard Stoffel, Jr., and David Stoffel.

Anthony was a graduate of Lowville Academy in 1989 and attended Canton University. He played football, which was his passion, for Lowville Academy and the Watertown Red and Black. Anthony loved watching football, hockey and baseball. He also loved to be outdoors and to go hunting and fishing. He had incredible affection for dogs and had several he lovingly cared for through the years. Anthony had a very giving and kind heart. He frequently gave from his own food, clothing and possessions to those who were in need. Anthony was so proud of his family, especially his many nieces and nephews, and enjoyed spending time with them.

Anthony was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family. A private family service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Croghan, with Rev. Donald Manfred. Burial will follow at a later date in Lowville Rural Cemetary.
