Laurien M. Flitcroft, 93, passed April 14, 2017 at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident.
A prayer service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19 at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.
Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 at the funeral home.
Born on October 24, 1923 on Wolf Island, Canada, daughter of Martin and Mabel (Greenwood) O’Brien, she attended WHS.
She married George “Lionel” Flitcroft on November 26, 1945 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. The couple resided in Oakland, CA from 1945 to 1946 while her husband finished his final year in the Navy. Upon returning home she and her husband purchased a farm and raised turkeys for several years. During that time Mr. Flitcroft also worked for the House of the Good Samaritan and Mercy Hospital as an x-ray technician until May of 1979. He passed on July 19, 1985. Laurien was a homemaker.
Among her survivors are her brother and sister in law, Harold M. and Carolyn A. O’Brien, Watertown; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents and two sisters and brothers in law, Bernice M. and Dennis W. Sequin and Geraldine K. and Nathaniel Barr.
