Lois G. Isham

Lois G. Isham, 95, Dexter, widow of Charles Isham, passed away Monday April 25th at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had been a resident since April 18th.

Graveside services will be 1 pm Saturday, April 29th at Brookside Cemetery, Watertown.

Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.

She is survived by a son John R. Isham, Dexter; three grandchildren Terri (Jimmy) Coffey, Sara (George) Tapinekis, Hannah Isham; and 3 great-grandchildren Brenna, Danny, & Dylan Coffey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Charles, and three siblings Gordon Kenfield, Graydon Kenfield, and Grace Baderman.

Born in Rodman July 6, 1921 she was a daughter to F. Madison and Sarah May (Reed) Kenfield. She was educated locally, and graduated from Adams Center High School. Lois worked in the boys and men’s department at Sears & Roebuck, managed the Northland Bank branch of NNY (Key Bank), was employed in the bookkeeping and accounting offices at Nortz Beverage on Bradley Street, and Watertown’s Halley Electric.

In 1944, she married Charles Isham in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Isham passed away in 1979. Following his passing Lois moved to Sarasota, Florida, returning to the north country five years ago to live with her son.

Lois was a former member of the Cosmopolitan Club.

Contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street, Watertown, New York 13601 -or- the charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Samaritan Medical Center & Samaritan Keep Nursing Home for their kindness and exemplary care of Lois during her stay.
