The funeral service for Joan “Tiger” Marden will be 6:00pm Friday, May 5th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 – 6:00pm. Burial will be held at a date and time convenient to the family.
Joan passed away at Samaritan Summit Village Monday, May 1st. She was 84 years old.
She was born in Boston July 10, 1932, a daughter of the late Archie and Claire Mae Curran. Tiger had several jobs in Watertown, but her final and most cherished was being employed by the Watertown Police Department as a crossing guard.
Tiger enjoyed socializing, crocheting, needlepoint, word search puzzles, and playing cards. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church, the Women’s League at the Salvation Army, and volunteered at the soup kitchen.
Tiger is survived by her children and their spouses Jimmy and Lillian, Kathy, Lisa and partner Ken, Tammy and her husband Rob, Randy and partner Mary, and Willie. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Jimmy.
There are very few people who didn’t know Tiger. She will be remembered as a kind, loving, humorous individual.
