Susan Camille Joynt passed away May 9, 2017 at the home of her daughter Camille Russ, in New Orleans, LA.
Susan was born April 5, 1957, in Carthage, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph P. and Marie A. Sykora Joynt. She attended school in Carthage.
Over her lifetime, she lived and worked in many places, before returning for a second time to New Orleans in 2005, and worked most recently at the Hotel de la Monnaie, where her many friends knew her as Camille Carter. She enjoyed writing and performing music throughout her life. She taught her children and grandchildren to sing and play.
She is survived by her daughter Camille Lyn (James) Russ, and her son Maxwell Joseph (Brittany) Simpson, grandchildren Gabriel Simpson, Grace Simpson, Faith Simpson and Lucy Russ. She is also survived by her sisters Sharon (Mark) Wuerschmidt of Chester, VA, Irene (John) Dalessandro of Corning, NY, Teresa “Fran” (Joe) Noftsier of North Augusta, SC, and her brothers Joseph A. Joynt of Columbia, SC, and Timothy K. (Lauri) Joynt of Normal. IL., nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May18th at 10:00am at St. James Church in Carthage with the Rev. Donald A. Robinson, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Carthage. There will be a calling hour at the church preceding the memorial service from 9:00 am-10:00am. Funeral arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage.
