Robert J. “Bob” Winn, age 76, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2017 at his home in Clayton, NY in the presence of his family.
Mr. Winn was born on November 2, 1940 to Robert and Dorothy Blanchard Winn and he was a graduate of LaFargeville Central School. He married Jean Marie Carter on August 9, 1960 at the Clayton Methodist Church. For over 55 years he worked as a carpenter, and a heavy equipment and crane operator.
Bob loved woodworking and spent many hours in his shop. He was passionate about restoring historic homes on Wellesley Island by creating custom moldings, windows, and doors to replicate the original woodwork. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; his six daughters and their spouses, Barbara and Jeff McAdoo, Alison Winn, Mary Linn and Jim Vandewalker, Carol and Alan Curling, Heidi and Rick Doolittle, and Heather and Art Sboro; his sisters-in-law, Sylvia Carter and Helen Printz; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 16, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 320 John St., Clayton at 6PM. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 4 - 5:30PM.
