pNORWOOD - Mrs. Patricia W. Musante, 71, of River Road, unexpectedly passed away early Friday morning, March 4, 2016 in the emergency room at Canton-Potsdam Hospital./ppPat was born June 15, 1944 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Edward A. and Katherine (Webber) Wagner. She graduated from St. Francis Academy and achieved her Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Mercy University, both in Pittsburgh. She later earned her Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh. /ppPat was currently the Director of the Potsdam Public Library. She worked tirelessly for its success and prominence in the Potsdam and North Country community. It has been under her direction that the library has grown to have the largest circulation in the Northern New York Library System and creating a library of the 21st century. In 2009, she was awarded the AAUW Agent of Change, for her commitment to the library and an unwavering dedication to women’s rights and equality of all women. /ppPat is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and James Kearns of Pittsburgh; her aunt, Mary Lou Webber of Pittsburgh; 9 nieces and nephews; 4 great nieces and nephews; many cousins, and countless friends and colleagues. /ppIn addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her husband, Guido “Gus” Musante in September 2009 and her brother, Edward Alan Wagner./ppA celebration of Pat’s life, where friends are invited to shared fond memories and stories, will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home, 4 Cedar Street, Potsdam.
