Mark A. Dowling, age 60, of Oswegatchie, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, May 17, 2017, at Clifton-Fine Hospital. A prayer service and celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Harrisville United Methodist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Frary Funeral Home, Harrisville.
Mark is survived by three sons, Mark Cooper of Oswegatchie, Everett Dowling of Rochester, and Vincent Dowling of Parishville; his mother, Gloria M. Dowling; his brothers, Richard V. Dowling of Harrisville, NY and Thomas A. Dowling of Hannibal, NY; sisters, Susan R. Van Sant of Harrisville, NY, Alice C. Donnelly of Hudson, Florida and Sandy Q. Gunnip of Cazenovia, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by three brothers, John Dowling and Michael Dowling, in infancy, and Wendell R. Dowling, Jr.; and his father, Wendell R. Dowling.
Mark was born on November 8, 1956, in Star Lake, NY, the son of Wendell R. and Gloria M. (Luther) Dowling. He attended Clifton-Fine schools. Mark worked for Soluri Construction in his early years. He also worked in California before returning to his home in the native Adirondacks that he loved so much. He was a self-employed carpenter for the past several years.
Mark enjoyed automotive work, camping, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors.
