The funeral service for Joanne F. Derrigo will be 11:00am Tuesday, June 13th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Rev. Steven Murray officiating. Burial will follow the service in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4-8:00pm Monday, June 12th at the funeral home.
Joanne passed away Thursday, June 8th at Country Manor Nursing Home. She was 86 years old.
Born in Lowville April 1, 1931 Joanne was a daughter to Robert and Helen (Hojohn) Artz. She was educated locally. On May 15, 1949, she married Frank J. Derrigo, Sr. at St. Anthony’s Church with the Rev. Albert R. Plante officiating.
Joanne and Frank owned and operated Frank’s Fruit Stand from 1967-1999. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children, John R. and wife Sandy., Robert A. and companion Lorraine Sorrell., Frank J., Helen and husband William Nielson; an adopted daughter, Jane (Donald) Ames; a sister, Emily Habeeb; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a large, extended family.
Besides her husband she is predeceased by 3 siblings, Richard and Robert Artz and Carol Taylor.
Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 120 Washington Street, Watertown, New York 13601.
