Funeral services for Myrna O. White, age 64 of Heuvelton will be held at 11:00am on Saturday (June 24, 2017) at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church with Rev. Kevin O’Brien officiating. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are with the Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is her husband and high school sweetheart Gary; two sons Dean (Gina) White of Gouverneur, Gary (Cathy) White of Ontario, NY, Amy (Ben) Kaldor-Bull of Melbourne Australia, and Sarah White of Heuvelton; grandchildren Peter James (PJ), Isaac, Evelyn, Lucy, William, Emelie, Garrison, Gracie, Isaiah, Isis & Hailey; three sisters Ellen Outman of Heuvelton, Patricia (Eric) Key of Ogdensburg and Gina Outman and her husband Theron Aldrich of Watertown; a special nephew Seadon White of Ogdensburg; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.
Myrna was born on Sept 28, 1952 in Ogdensburg NY, a daughter of Gerald “Dean” & Jeanne (Chambers) Outman. She graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1970 and married Gary White on July 7, 1972 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. She later continued her education at SUNY Plattsburgh, and earned her teaching degree graduating in 1974, and beginning her career at Heuvelton Central School. In 1976 Myrna decided to take time off from teaching to raise her family and in 1979, she and her good friend Lynne Pagano started the Super Friends Nursery School which they operated for four years. In 1981 she again resumed her teaching career at Heuvelton Central School where she taught kindergarten. It was the joy of her life to work with children and teach with her beloved colleagues until she retired in 2010.
Myrna was a wonderful and talented cook and baker, and she enjoyed sewing, watching movies, politics and spending time with her family.
