Charles F. Zeltwanger Jr., 47, of Sackets Harbor, passed away June 24th following a heart attack.
Charlie was born December 19, 1969 in Watertown, the son of Charles and Nancy Glowaski Zeltwanger Sr. A graduate of General Brown Central School he also graduated from the Watertown Police Academy and worked as a Corrections Officer at the Jefferson County Jail. He retired and started working as a Police Officer for the Village of Sackets Harbor on a part-time basis.
Charlie married Stephany R. Travis on December 13, 2008 at St. Andrews Church, Sackets Harbor.
He was a member of the Sons of The American Legion in Sackets Harbor, Dexter Masonic Lodge #1072. He loved riding his motorcycle, camping and barbecuing. He was an avid Boston Bruins Hockey Fan and watching his son play hockey. He was really enjoying retirement.
He is survived by his wife Stephany, his son Bryce DaFoe, his mother Nancy Zeltwanger of Dexter. He has two sisters: Dawn Cote of Dexter, Julie (Richard) Munk of Glen Park, a niece Teasha Cote and nephews: Bryan Munk and Eric Munk and great nephew Dylan Munk. His in-laws are Mark and Rachel Travis, sister-in-law Krystal Rice and brother-in-law Marc Travis. He also has Aunts and Uncles surviving.
He was predeceased by his father Charles F. Zeltwanger Sr. on February 18th, 2017.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday July 2 at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville at 11:00 am. Calling hours will be Sunday July 1st with Police and Fireman from 2-3 PM and Public from 3-4 and 7-9 PM. A Masonic service will be conducted at 8:00 PM. Following the Funeral Mass a Celebration of Life will be held at the Sackets Harbor American Legion.
