The funeral service for Brian D. Ormsby, 58, will be 12 noon Saturday, July 1st at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Calling hours are from 10 am - 12 noon prior to the funeral.
Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery for the convenience of the family.
Brian passed away Monday June 26th at his home in Adams under the care of his wife Joan and Hospice.
He is survived by his wife Joan; two sons Shawn and Jason (Sarah), all of Atlanta, GA; his father Duane, Adams; grandchildren Jessica, Brian, Megan, Madison and Owen; his sister Beth (Craig) Glodfelter, Adams; and brother Barry (Betsy), Adams; several nieces and nephews.
Brian was predeceased by his mother, Phyllis and a brother Bruce.
He was born in Watertown March 27, 1959, a son to Duane and Phyllis Fulton Ormsby. He attended Belleville Central School and graduated from Watertown High School in the summer of 1976. He married Joan Burley in 1977.
Brian and Joan moved to Houston, TX in 1979 where he owned and operated an auto repair and truck rental business in Houston for 5 years. He also did sandblasting, painting and iron work during that time. He later worked for a scaffolding building commercial and residential company throughout the southeastern US until 2005. From 2006-2013, he worked for a convention set building company, based out of Atlanta, GA.
Brian and Joan moved back to Belleville to be near family in 2013, retiring due to ill health.
Brian adored his grandchildren and lived to work. He enjoyed collecting tools and working on trucks and motorcycles. He was a NASCAR fan, and followed the career of Dale Earnhardt.
The family would like to thank Hospice for their wonderful care and comfort that was given to Brian.
