CRANBERRY LAKE, NY - Matthew J. Glavin, the best-selling author of the Adirondack Treasure novels who died on July 9, 2016, after a long illness. Glavin was 61 years old.
Glavin was born July 15, 1953 in Syracuse, New York.
Glavin started writing just four years ago and published his first book, Adirondack Treasure - The Bonaparte Legacy in 2012. The book quickly hit the best-sellers list for Upstate New York and remains there to this day. In March of 2014, Glavin released his second book, Adirondack Treasure - Isle Royale, with co-author, Michael J. Dolan. Isle Royale hit the best seller list within months of publication. In 2014, the Adirondack Treasure books were the top two selling novels in New York State. Glavin was working on his third novel with Mr. Dolan when he passed away.
Glavin was a member of the Cranberry Lake Volunteer Fire Department and was the recipient of their ‘Volunteer of the Year’ award in 2014.
He is survived by his two sons, Christopher, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Sean, of Clarksville, Tennessee, and his wife, Stacy, of Kennesaw, Georgia.
A Memorial service will be held at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Star Lake on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Cranberry Lake Library, Highway #3, Cranberry Lake, New York, 12927.
