LOWVILLE – Joseph Rozanski, Jr., 96, formerly of Dayan St., passed away early Tuesday morning, July 18, 2017, at Samaritan Keep Home.
A funeral Mass will be said at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville, with Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Lowville Rural Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6–8 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. Contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Church, 5457 Shady Ave., Lowville, NY 13367.
He is survived by three sons, Harold and Pamela Rozanski of Glen Park; Richard Rozanski of Uncasville, CT; Alan and Christine Rozanski of Vernon, NY; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Jennie Borowiec of Utica; two sisters-in-law, Ethelene Rozanski, of Bellwood and Katherine Rozanski of Lowville; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers, Clemens, John, Edward and Mitchell Rozanski; and three sisters, Sylvia Rygielski, Regina Rozanski and Irene Rozanski.
Joseph was born January 20, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Sophia Romanowski Rozanski. He attended country school at Gardner’s Corners. On October 7, 1951, he married Mary Ann Reape at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with Rev. Cotter officiating. Joseph worked for Lewis County General Hospital as an orderly for over 13 years and as laundry supervisor for 22 years, retiring in 1983 after 35 years of service. Mrs. Rozanski died on June 24, 1994.
Mr. Rozanski was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Joseph especially enjoyed family life.
