Elizabeth F. Barnhart, 90, of 922 Alexandria St., died Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility in Lowville.

Elizabeth was born April 19, 1927 in Lewisburg, the daughter of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Downing) Brady. She married Dean E. Barnhart on October 18, 1952 at St. James Church in Carthage. Dean, a former employee of the Crown Zellerbach Corp., died on April 28, 2005. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, knitting mittens and berry picking.

She is survived by two sons: Dan L. (Donna) Barnhart of Johnsonville and William D. Barnhart and his companion, Jill Carpenter of Carthage, 4 Grandchildren, William Jr. (Tara), Donald (Brandi), Angela (Todd) and Franklin, 6 Great Grandchildren, Caleigh, Carli, Brevyn, Cole, Halee and Brooke, two sisters: Rose Brady of Watertown and Mary Anne (Dave) West of Carthage, one brother: Joseph Brady of Carthage and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by 2 brothers, William “Mike” and James Brady, 3 sisters, Frances Runkles, Sue Arnold and Ruth Brady who died in infancy, 2 sisters-in-law, Nina and Neltha Brady and a brother-in-law, John Arnold.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Donald A. Robinson officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home.
