Mrs. Helen L. Perkins, age 90, of Canton, NY passed away on August 22nd at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg. Graveside services will be on Saturday, August 26th at 1 pm at the Bayside Cemetery in Potsdam. Online condolences can be sent for Helen @garnerfh.com. Helen was born on July 15, 1927 in Malone, NY to Frederick and Eulalie Paddock Stone. She was the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone, NY in 1944 and attended the Potsdam Normal School. In July of 1946 she married Hazen B. Perkins and lived in Potsdam for many years thereafter.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Hazen (1985), daughter Susan (1972) and daughter Bonnie Littlefield (2007), as well as her sisters Virginia Stone, Mary Cardarelli and Jean Hill and brothers Neil Stone, John Stone and George Stone. She is survived by her daughter Jane B. Powers and husband Bower of Pierrepont, son Charles F. Perkins and wife Dede of Syracuse and son Richard Perkins and wife Anne of Metairie, Louisiana, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen was a strong Christian believer who loved God and the lord Jesus Christ and saw many answered prayers. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, dogs Smokey and Beaver, and cooking holiday dinners for her family. She will be greatly missed by all.
